RESAAS to Power Private Social Network for NAR’s Largest Affiliate

RESAAS Services Inc., the fast-growing real estate social network that began powering a global referral platform for Re/Max in March, has signed up the Council of Residential Specialists to its system.

CRS, which provides continuing education resources to a membership of more than 30,000 U.S. and international real estate professionals, is the largest affiliate of the National Association of Realtors.

NAR affiliates include institutes, societies and councils established by NAR’s board of directors to facilitate cooperation and discussion of particular aspects of real estate, NAR spokeswoman Sara Wiskerchen told Inman News.

RESAAS will power a private social network for CRS as it does for a growing number of real estate brokerages, associations and organizations including the Canadian-based brokerage, Sutton West Coast Realty, the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) and the Fox Valley (Illinois) Association of Realtors.

CRS members, who pay $150 for a 12-month membership, will also gain access to the broader RESAAS platform, which connects real estate pros from around the world in a LinkedIn-like professional network that’s exclusively for real estate agents.

“RESAAS can be a great benefit for a Realtor wanting to connect with both CRS designees and other real estate agents on a global basis,” said Anthony Priore, vice president of marketing and communications at the Council of Residential Specialists, in a statement.

By providing private social networks to real estate groups for free, RESAAS brings more real estate agents on to its platform, which it hopes will swell its membership to a critical mass that makes the platform more useful for consumers, who can browse the network and contact agents, but cannot post or join.

Eventually, the Vancouver-based firm will generate revenue from premium products it offers agents like the chance to enhance their brand on the network or to outsource their online advertising with one of its tools.
